The term “hair tattoo” has come up in relation to the Scalp Micropigmentation process. However, that is where the comparison ends. Scalp MicroPigmentation (SMP) is a detailed process that creates natural looking simulation of micro hairs. The most important difference between a tattoo and SMP is that the pigment injected does not spread and is confined neatly where injected. Whereas regular tattoo needles are too large to replicate the look of hair follicles. The tiny microneedles used in SMP are specially designed to have the pigment blend in to achieve a natural look, rather than stand out like a tattoo is designed to do. The other key difference is that the PMU (permanent makeup) is injected into the second dermal layer of the skin vs the fifth layer which is accessed in a regular tattoo. It is also important to note that PMU is a mineral pigment used in this cosmetic process which is hypoallergenic as well.
You should consider SMP as a solution for any of these problems or needs:
Hair Transplant Scars
Hide Birthmarks, Scars or Burns
Self Esteem Issues
